Bonding

We could use the term sewing without thread or gluing. It is the joining of materials without creating perforations, for example by heat, pressure, glue or ultrasound. In all cases, however, only the material itself is used, supplemented by tape which may have a practical or just a visual meaning, or both.

The resulting joint is smooth, pleasant on the skin and at the same time aesthetically very pleasing to the eye. At the same time, the properties of the original material, such as elasticity, functionality, etc., are preserved. At the same time, the joint itself is durable and there is minimal chance of failure at the joint.

Practical application of bonding technology

Bonding technology involves several steps and it depends on the specific application how these steps will be applied. For each step, a special machine is used which is designed only for that operation. In general, the first step is preparation. This preparation is done using an ultrasonic machine or a tape application machine. During this step, excess material may be removed (by trimming, bending).

The next step is the final processing. This is generally carried out on a single machine. In the case of complex finishing operations, several machines may be required.

The machines are highly specialised, careful consideration of the application is required and the appropriate machines should be selected according to the application.

Consumables

Consumables are mainly tape. This tape contains a heat-activated adhesive and is very important for the quality of the final joint. The high quality Bemis tapes that are manufactured in the USA are suitable for all machines offered. It is always important to consider the base textile material used, the form of application and the desired resulting functionality. According to these parameters the right tape is selected.
